​REUT KALIFA

This collection is inspired by the artist Frida Kahlo. In this project, I was more interested in Frida's body blemishes, how? not in the sad and heavy side of the issue, but I referred to it as an advantage rather than a defect and just because of this attitude I decided to take the artists' physical blemishes out and externalize them. In my perspective Frida was a colored man and for that her paintings are colorful. She used to make sure to spill a powerful color on her works and to draw on her blemishes (the orthopedic cast on her back, etc.). Frida was physically handicapped, but she did not let this fact to affect her life and but used it to create and produce. To my opinion, Frida Kahlo formed from the defect and into it and this part has made me to choose and bring these physical defects to the forefront of the collection.
