The collection is inspired by the deep contrast between the Aborigines tribe in Australia and Rothko, an artist from the Abstract Expressionism stream. The way I chose to present the Aborigines tribe is by knitting with different shapes and dimensions that display their artistry, and reflected by dots and lines. On the other side there is Rothko, an artist that is drawing in a very expressionistic and abstract way. His paintings are characterized by a one huge colored surface. Of course there are other available sources which can compare the differences between them, for example the western reference to tribalism and vice versa, that is exactly the opposite of opposing and reversed worlds of each other in all disciplinary in life. The significant difference led me to create a dress made of canvas with a very simple dressmaking pattern divided to squares which have prints of parts from the knitted dress, thus it combines these two worlds and creates a new and interesting look.
