​REUT KALIFA

The collection is inspired by the paintings of the artist Emil Nolde. The paintings I chose to focus on can be divided into two groups , one group is the group with the larger colored spots, and the second group is the group that contains more colors, namely the one with the small color surfaces that creates forms which together creates an object, for example: flowers, women, etc. The very sensitive technique his paintings are characterized by drew me. The use of contrasting colors and the distribution between them drew and intrigued me and I acted in this collection accordingly. Emil Nolde's paintings caused me a sense of optimism, of a light and of a sensitive and sweet coloring. In his paintings it's possible to distinguish the regularity that he choose to paint which is characteristic him only. His highly stylized shapes and the colors combinations provokes experiences and exciting associations. In the collection I chose to use parts of his works in several of printing techniques and highlight parts of the drawings by handicrafts can be seeing on at some parts of the printed garment. In addition, from every painting I took the general atmosphere that I get from it, and then put it out to the silhouette of each model and the garment.
